I Love Music
I may not keep this specific template for long. It's a little dark and gloomy, but the three column format allows me to better showcase other blogs. I was recently honored with an award from A Strong Black Woman (literally and figuratively). While I have every intention of paying it forward, I wanted to express my thoughts about five people who were my first interactions in the world of blogotropalis.
And now on to my musical play list (to your right).
I was inspire to blog by a young lady from my hometown who's success as an attorney, mother, and wife come as no surprise to those of us who were fortunate enough to cross her path at Dear Old Eastside High in Paterson New Jersey. Her ability to keep it intellectually stimulating and real, even going as far as promising to place herself on her infamous SYAD list show's real upstanding CHARACTER. Highly successful but still down.
In the courtroom, or on the courts. A Special Lady and a VERY Exciting Majorette.
To my spiritual big sister who has a gift for saying what edifies. She's also able and willing to give a WORD in season to anyone who's perspective has been thrown off by the cares of this world. Larue Steward sings, I am free, no more chains holding me, but the song for Free Spirit Butterfly reflects what enables her to do what she do.
Speak to my heart Holy Spirit, Give me the Words that will bring new life..
A few months ago I watched a tribute concert to Smokey Robinson. I know a lot of people that can sing, but I know very few people that have a gift for writing words that move you. Thank GOD I'm married. I mean let's be real y'all some of the things that happened in your past were musically, but even more so lyrically influenced. The smoothness of old school lyrics that left know doubt to where you were headed, but always placed as much emphasis on the journey as they did on the final destination.
Check out the Quiet Storms, Soft and Warm over at ESCAPADES. It's very spiritual indeed.
Get up get get get down! Strong Black Woman is coming to your town... on a book signing tour. Date to be determined. To get an idea of what you're in store for check out her Diary and her blog. I've often heard it said that whatever doesn't kill you will make you stronger. A word from Romans, We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us - they help us learn to endure. (Romans 5:3NLT)
Strong Black Woman it's all in you. (Sorry it's not the Chaka Khan version)
Standing Able A survivor, a warrior, a victor, and someone still in the process of being healed; healed to the extent that your immune system is stronger than it ever was before, and your ministry will be more potent than ever because of the completion of the healing process. 2008 (new beginning) was the year of the open door and the elevation that manifested this year was a part of that, but 2009 is the year that 2008 is put in proper perspective through the clarifying of the purpose of the elevation experienced in 2008.
You've heard it before, now hear it again for the first time. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
Although this song isn't listed "Before I Tell Them" by Yolanda Adams is for Cutting it Straight and By His Stripes. The time you take studying to show yourself approved is appreciated more than you'll ever know.
To everyone on the Blog Roll and the Holy Roll God Bless You and Stay Safe.

I'm free because Jesus loves me and forgave me and because my husband left me (smile)
After crying about it, I picked myself up and said, "now what are you going to do about it?" The rest is history... a butterfly emerged and began fluttering through life and discovering new people, new places and new things. And I'm so very glad that she did because now we are friends for life!
